Who’s your Customer ?

Who’s your customer?

What are the customer’s expectation ?

How to keep track of the customer’s changing need ?

These are the most anticipated question that brims around every other new product that penetrates into the market .It is difficult to predict a customer mind and his changing needs . Every product tries to catch the attention of the customer some way or the other and more importantly they are in dire need of feed back which facilitates continuous improvement and better survival of their product there by giving them a competitive advantage .

Web has created a new revolution in the way how information can reach an end user and how well the consumer is able to assimilate any piece of information. Every now and then , we see customers discussing about the products and reviewing them in their website , blogs and forum .

On the down side , there is too much of junk that is floating in the web that it is  difficult to keep hold of every such reviews . Many innovative ways are being explored to know the mind of the customer and a million ways to provide quality that the customer expects.

I was reading through Obama’s success stories and it was agreed that his online presence was huge plus in embracing the next generation youth. He was every where in the web. This gives us a valuable information that a potential reach and growth is possible in all quarters and it becomes highly imperative that one follows the customer and the technology which (s)he uses , to woo them.

Some time back , I was googling out to find a suitable open cms for exploring the features and to try hands on.I was looking through various CMS available on the web .There were many reviews and evaluations that head lined some of the best CMS available in the market.

Since I was from a java background , I was more interested in a java cms which few may feel is a over kill. But my need to integrate portals developed out of java  with a cms was the order of the day . Understanding a cms and its framework and API will help in integrating with portals better.

After a lot of searching and reviews , I choose open cms since it had a comparable good review and rating . Hence I went to the site and downloaded. Being the kind of internet addict in me , I now and then tweeted all my experiments with open cms . Though I couldn’t explore much of it , I did do a minimal install and tried it for some time . It was the end of the story.

Many days later , one fine day when i was looking at my followers in twitter , I was surprised to see opencms following my tweets. I was pondering over how open cms was able to follow me because normally the follow up would be through emails most of the time.

It was only then , it struck me  that open cms is following ,after me tweeting about open cms . I was thrilled to bits on the level of detail and finesse some people show to fetch the feed back of their products.

This is one such incident which vividly potrays on how to collect feed back and requirements from the customer and on to what degree and extend one can go to get the needed feed back from the customer.

Ideally the whole world  is your Customer .

Of course, all these pain is cos Customer is every one’s boss !
